The Moon-10 is a new (2020) kalimba from Magadi. A solid resonant block “floats” on the goat skin membrane to produce a rich and resonant sound. This one is in the Golden Moon tuning – which has a low note of C, but is in the key of F because it has a Bb. What that means: I have changed the tuning on this one to make it very useful for playing songs that you already know.
The Moon-10 comes with a black padded case to keep it protected on your travels, and a tablature-based 24-page color manual to help you on your kalimba journey. The Moon-10 Kalimba, in “Golden Moon” tuning (F major DIATONIC scale, with a low note of C), is able to play more songs than any other 10-note tuning. Why? Just because there are a lot of songs that require a diatonic scale, and go down to the 5th of the scale. Think “Amazing Grace” and “Happy Birthday”, which both start on the 5th of the scale.
