I’ve ordered a “kit” to build a 17 key kalimba to gift to my brother in law. Unfamiliar with a kalimba myself I’m trying to decide if a solid board (I have several hardwoods to choose from) or a hollow box style would be best? Building either won’t be a challenge as I have woodworking experience I just want it to be as functional for him as possible. What “wood” you recommend?
