TIP OF THE DAY
November 16, 2007 Kalimba enthusiast William McCoy writes in: Hi Mark, Cool. Thanks so much. Yes, I also prefer the acoustic sound. I know what you mean. But I do love to stick a piezo on my old Hugh Tracey with Scotch tape and play with a little Over Drive distortion, compression, and sustain. Yikes!! What fun. Then add a little delay and reverb, perhaps some chorus, and see what it is possible to come up with. Have you ever run a Kalimba through a vocoder? I'm an acoustic musician for almost half a century now, but in the last 8 years, I have built a MIDI controlled modular studio that I'm having a lot of fun with. If I come up with anything that I really dig on these Kalimbas, I will shoot an MP3 your way for fun and pleasure. Thanks again bro'. Peace. --Will I'm looking forward to that MP3! -- Mark |
