Performing on the Kalimba:
Kalimba as Supportive Instrument

The kalimba can also be a supportive instrument. It is fairly high pitched, so it is not as versatile as a guitar. However, I can sing against my Alto or Treble kalimba.

When singing with the kalimba, I tend to play chords, thumb-picking patterns, supportive repetitive things that focus on harmony, structure, rhythm.

Or pick a complimentary high pitched melody instrument to accompany, such as the violin, a flute, or a recorder.
