Performing on the Kalimba:
Getting the Audience's Attention

Other things that might help get people's attention: funky body motion while you play (that's what I do anyway), big smiles when the music moves you, super fast passages played well, intense beauty in the music, or hiding the kalimba in a gourd so it can't be seen (what is IN there?). You can also get people's attention by connecting with them through a story - of where the kalimba comes from or how you found your first kalimba.
