Performing on the Kalimba:
Live Performances

There is something potentially magical about live performances. I remember as a teenager hearing the difference between live recordings and studio recordings. At that time I generally thought that live recordings always seemed rushed or a little bit off the mark. Then in my college years I experienced the folk-rock-improvisational band The Grateful Dead, and learned that THESE guys had mastered playing live, and their STUDIO recordings were way off the mark. So what is going on here?
