Converting from WAV to MP3 Format

Basically, anything you want to send over the internet should be in MP3 format (unless you are just sending a few sound samples, in which case you probably want to keep it as WAV). There are dozens of programs that do this. Most of them cost money.

The people who wrote the open source free program Audacity have made their program talk to LAME - "Lame's not an MP3 Encoder" - even though it IS. LAME is available for free download, and it is considered to be one of the best MP3 encoders.
