Repertoire
5: Original Songs
Part of the glory of the kalimba is that each person who picks it up
creates their own music on it. I encourage you to create your own music
and even write songs - with or without words. But do try to get bits of
music that are reproducible. You can keep them in your back pocket and
pull them out whenever you need them.
On the other hand, I would suggest that you learn other songs in addition
to your original creations. The kalimba is strange enough to most people,
and it is magically reassuring to people when you play a song they know
so well on this strange and foreign instrument.
