Building a More Complex Riff From Yesterday's Riff

Check out yesterday's simple riff for the Colin Walcott-tuned 8-note kalimba. The notes alternate from right to left. If we put in two more notes between each of those first four notes, we can keep the right-left alternating thing going, and everything turns out easy - at least until we get to the last notes, which defy alternating (unless we just keep them the same as in yesterday's exercise).

The first part of the riff is the same as the harmony second part from yesterday.

Listen to the two parts together

Stay tuned, faithful kalimba players, and we'll make something even better from this tomorrow.
