More Solutions for Stressed Thumb Nails

Greg Brown says:

"My nails are very hard and brittle, and I suffer a lot from cracks, tears, etc., especially when playing glissando. I have tried 'Hard as Nails' and thumb pics, which I, personally, am just not comfortable with. So one night my wife Wendy suggested I try to get in touch with my feminine side, and try adding clear 'Acrylic Nails' to my thumbs for slightly more length and durability. I'll be darned if it doesn't work - at least for me. Just thought you'd like to know."

Mark replies:

"Yes, metal is stronger than thumb nails, and we really do need our nails in order to play our best and not get hurt. My partner Deb has also found "Loctite Superglue" which comes in a bottle with a brush and looks just like nail polish. She uses it for preventative maintenance. I use it too, especially if I have a tear in the nail already - it glues it all back together."
