What If You Break a Nail - Part II

My wife Deb has weak nails. She started out with finger nail polish, and then moved on to "hard as nails" and then to the hardest supplement of all: super glue. She uses super glue as preventive maintenance - with an extra layer of this on your nails, you are much less likely to break a nail. However, I have discovered that super glue can effectively stop a nail break in its tracks.

I broke my right thumb nail while bringing luggage to the Seattle airport. The break was short, about 1/4 inch, right at the point where the nail joins the thumb flesh. When I got home, I went straight for my wife's super glue stash. Weeks later, the break is still there, but it is frozen and more than halfway grown out.
