Thumbnail Care
What If You Break a Nail - Part I
Usually when you break a nail, you don't break it all the way across,
but just on one side. If you try to ignore that little break,
it will eventually tear all the way across your thumb nail.
Early
on I figured out that you can cut that crack
out. In other words, perform surgery on your nail with some nail clippers,
cutting completely around the crack and leaving as much uncut nail as you can.
It will take you a while to get used to this "abbreviated nail." In fact, you may
want to trim it back a bit so it is less likely to break further.
But over the last year I learned a better trick for broken nails: come back next week to find out what that is!
