TIP OF THE DAY
Tuesday, June 12, 2007 I've been thinking a lot about this lately. I first introduced the topic of intentionality in the Monday, June 4th tip. - Mark Before you start playing a song on your kalimba, think about what you want the music to be, to do. What is your intention for this music? You can have simple straightforward intentions - such as to sound like a moving cat or someone tiptoeing, or to convey beauty or complexity. Or you can have a lofty intention - to bring peace to someone, to give thanks to God. Whatever your intention, the music will reflect this intention, both outwards to the world and inwards to your heart. So it is worthwhile to give careful thought to your intentions each time before you play.
