Watch the Angle of Your Thumbnail on the Tine

The angle at which your thumb nails come down on the tine affects the sound you get - flatter thumb nails (i.e., parallel with the tines) make more of a clicking sound. If you point your thumb nails down a bit, you get less click, and I think they'll last longer too.
