On Wrong Notes - or Not!
If you hit a note that you perceive to be wrong, DON'T make
a face or a groan, but ask yourself: can I roll with this and
get to another spot that DOES work?
Usually when you play
a note that just plain sounds awful, it's because it is
too close to a stronger more important note. So, when you
play such a note, the safest place to go NEXT is to a note
that is right next to the bad note you played (this assumes that
the kalimba and your partners are in the same key - if not,
all bets are off).
A very important thing is to have faith that there is a path
which is accessible to you. There is an easy way through the
music that will work and will be beautiful, and it is your
task to find it.
