TIP OF THE DAY
September 21, 2006 In a few weeks, we'll be coming out with the book "Playing the Pentatonic Kalimba". This book will spend half its pages on the G major pentatonic tuning, and half its pages on the G minor pentatonic tuning. Here is an example riff from the G Major half:
The first measure is an arpeggio about the G major chord, the second measure is about the E minor chord, the third is about an A chord (as there is neither a C nore a C# in this tuning, the A is neither major or minor - it is open to interpretation), and the last measure is about the D chord (again, it is neither major nor minor, but the implication is major). Now you can listen to all of these beautiful Tips of the Day with the new KTabS reader, which is available for just five dollars! The KTabS reader is good for playing a lot of different files, not just these. KTabS also shows you the tablature and highlights the notes as they are played, i.e., this is a great learning tool! You can find out lots more at the KTabS site. (p.s. I don't get the $5--the KTabS people do.) |
