TIP OF THE DAY
August 10, 2006 Yesterday's tip (Wednesday, August 9th) was an Advanced Kalimba Tip that included a slide, where we played two adjacent notes on the same side, with one smooth motion, but slow enough so that the two notes were in time with the music. Try that today with the karimba.
Slide your thumb, in a single motion, from the upper to the lower tine. Notice how the upper and lower tines relate to each other on the two sides? You'll want to use this relationship in your karimba music--but that's another tip for another day! |
