Transplanting Tines To Create a Resonant Box Karimba

A few months ago, I had a crazy request: someone wanted a karimba mounted on a resonant box. The karimba is usually mounted on a solid board (aka, "celeste"). Before I could say no, I got a request for a celeste treble kalimba, but I was all out. BUT - I did have a resonant box treble kalimba... Can you guess what I did next?

On the left: karimba on solid "celeste" board and treble kalimba on resonant box. If we switch the hardware on these, we get, on the right, a celeste treble (treble kalimba on solid board) and a karimba on resonant box (this being perhaps the first of these anyone has seen).
