February 21, 2008 The F#m2 chord is made by playing the F#m chord and adding the 2nd, or G# to it. Minor describes the 3rd (A is the minor 3rd of F#), not the 2nd. There is a minor 2nd, but it doesn't do well in chords. Similar to the drill in the past, try taking out the 2nd, then putting it in and see how it builds and diminishes tension.
