The Paradox of Being Present

When I am troubled by something or out of sorts, frustrated, or confused, I find that playing the kalimba has the power to center me.

Playing brings my mind right into the present moment and focuses my attention on my thumbs and the kalimba, brings my body and my mind together into one place. I feel that I am truly present.

However, to someone trying to talk to me, it might seem that I am a million miles away and that I have temporarily vacated my body.

So which one is it?  Am I really here, or am I really there?
