I am a white man playing an African instrument, and I have just completed a book of arrangements of African American spirituals for the Hugh Tracey Alto kalimba. In this month's Message, I share with you some of the ideas, thoughts and emotions that bubbled to the surface in the process of bringing this new book to life.
