All proceeds from the sale of these very special Hugh Tracey Kalimbas will be sent back to African Musical Instruments (AMI), the company that makes the Hugh Tracey Kalimbas. AMI will administer a fund to help pay for health care expenses and school fees for AMI employees and their immediate families.

Normally, when you purchase a kalimba the photographs and sound samples are of a representative instrument. For the Hugh Tracey PREMIUM Kalimbas, photos and recordings will be for the exact kalimba you will get if you decide to purchase this one.

This was the kalimba that was so beautiful looking, sounding and feeling that I realized that the proceeds from the premium kalimbas should flow back to Africa. This is the one that fell on my head and made all the pieces fit together (see story in last month's newsletter).

Premium Hugh Tracey Kalimba 002:

The Yin Yang: Alto without Pickup

I call this Alto kalimba the Yin Yang. The facewood has sort of a light and dark Yin Yang thing going. In fact, this one sort of looks at you, like a manga character peeking out from under a crop of wild hair. It sounds very fine too.
