While there was a lot of interest in the idea of a contest, there wasn't much of a response to our first competition. The contest challenge we announced in February was to take a creative photo of a kalimba in nature or with an animal. Below are the photos that we received and, following the photos, we announce the winner:
Jason Semeniuk's kalimba and cat.

Kalimba mirage in an English village street by Keith Tobin.
Nick Nicholas' "Quaker parrot" and his Catania kalimba.
Daniel Caixao's glowing kalimba. By the way, the
Community page in this newsletter features Daniel's
thoughts on
Brazilian kalimbas and players.
Nick Strippoli's kalimba next to a bonsai tree—a reminder
that the word kalimba in Bantu means "little music."
By the way, if you have a chromatic kalimba,
be sure to
check out Nick's chromatic videos.
Glen Davis, the judge for this contest, loves to
photograph
his Andrew Masters fish can kalimba.
Glen Davis has selected kalimba mirage in an English village street as the WINNER. I will be shipping Keith Tobin an Alto Kalimba. Thank you to the other contestants!!
